Malawi Relief Fund UK Issa FoundationWe, at Malawi Relief Fund (MRF)-UK, in collaboration with our major donor, the Issa Foundation, are delighted to announce the successful graduation of 45 women from Chiradzulu in tailoring and design training. The graduation ceremony at Maone Technical College in Chiradzulu marks our fourth cohort, and we’re proud that our vocational skills program has now benefited over 180 individuals in under two years, fostering self-reliance, financial independence, and economic empowerment.

As our Country Director, I am deeply moved by this achievement. This is not just a graduation – today we celebrate a milestone in the lives of these 45 remarkable women who have successfully completed their tailoring training program.

At Malawi Relief Fund-UK, we firmly believe that empowering women is key to transforming families, communities, and entire nations. When a woman is equipped with skills, knowledge, and opportunities, she becomes a force for economic growth and social change.

Our comprehensive program goes beyond technical skills in sewing and design. We’ve ensured our graduates received training in business and financial management, alongside basic Islamic teachings to support moral and ethical entrepreneurship.

We’re particularly proud that our support, together with the Issa Foundation, extends beyond training. Each graduate has received a brand-new sewing machine and accessories, provided at no cost, as part of our K23 million (£10,645 Pound sterling)  investment in intensive training and start-up support.

To our graduates: We want you to leave here fully equipped, ready to start your own business, earn a living, and build a better future for yourselves and your families. Go forth with confidence! You now have the tools to create, to earn, to inspire—the world is waiting for your talent.

Remember, this is just the beginning of your journey. Keep learning, keep innovating, and keep striving for excellence. The future is in your hands, and we have no doubt that you will make a significant impact.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors and trainers whose dedication made this program a success. May your talents bring prosperity to your lives and communities, and may your sewing machines stitch together a brighter future for all of you. We look forward to seeing you grow as entrepreneurs and leaders, In Sha Allah.

We were honoured to have Mr. Kaumi, Director of Planning and Development at Chiradzulu District Council, as our guest of honour, along with Traditional Authority (T/A) Ntchema and other local chiefs, including Swadiki, Chapola, and Chotokwa, from the communities where our graduates hail.

We are humbled by Mr. Kaumi’s recognition of MRF-UK as one of the most reliable NGOs working in Chiradzulu. His acknowledgment that our program’s impact will ripple through generations, fostering economic growth and community development, reinforces our commitment to continue delivering tangible, life-changing outcomes for our communities.
